Harry Wayne Archer of Pickerington, OH, born on March 7, 1945, in Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 78. He was a loving husband of 58 years to his bride, Jean, a devoted father to Christina Archer (Carianne) and Brian Archer (Maria), a cherished grandfather to Evelyn, Abigail, and Andrew, and a Big Brother to Anthony Chamberlain (Lisa).
Harry graduated from the University of Cincinnati (1969) and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He worked as a Certified Financial Practitioner (CFP). Harry “never met a stranger” and left an impression on all he met. He loved his dog, Molly, and enjoyed many summers boating on Buckeye Lake and Lake Erie. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, guidance, friendship, and fierce commitment to his family, friends, faith, and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all those he touched. May he rest in peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, knowing his memory will forever be cherished.
In November 2012, Harry became a valued member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he committed himself to protecting and assisting those in need. At his passing, Harry was the USCG Auxiliary Flotilla Commander of Station Marblehead, Marblehead, OH. Harry’s selfless contributions and countless volunteer hours to the organization will not be forgotten.
Furthermore, Harry was an active member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Westerville, OH, where his faith flourished. He found solace and strength in his spiritual community, and he shared his unwavering belief with those around him.
Harry is preceded by his parents, Ernest and Minnie (Smith) Archer, sister, Geneva (Archer) DuPriest, and brother, Eugene Archer. Harry is survived by his brothers-in-law, Lee DuPriest and Ken Craynon, sister-in-law Kay Craynon, beloved niece Elizabeth Craynon Frank (Christopher, Alina & CJ), nephews Michael DuPriest (Debbie) and Terry DuPriest (Cheryl) as well as other family members.
