Introduction to Luminaire-Level Lighting Controls: A Hands-On Workshop
Presented by Minnesota Power in partnership with SCALE (Smart Controls Accelerating Lighting Efficiency) from the Efficient Technology Accelerator (ETA).
About this event

Get hands-on experience with Luminaire-Level Lighting Controls (LLLCs) at this single-day training.

Even if you have no prior experience programming lighting controls, you’re encouraged to bring a tablet, phone, or laptop. By the end of the training, you’ll have successfully programmed your first system!

The training will focus on demonstrating how LLLCs are configured and provide value to installers, save energy, and enable simple methods to meet code. It will be conducted in a classroom-style format with demonstrations and a focus on interactive exercises.

Topics covered:
• System layout & design considerations
• Wired vs. wireless communication
• Installation
• Programming

Who should attend:
• Contractors/Electricians
• ESCOs
• Utilities
• Specifiers involved in electrical and lighting systems
• Energy efficiency programs
• Anyone interested in simplifying lighting controls

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided during the training session.

Meet the Program
SCALE (Smart Controls Accelerating Lighting Efficiency) is dedicated to driving energy efficiency through the adoption of advanced lighting control technologies. We recognize lighting represents a significant opportunity for electric energy savings, and we are at the forefront of the shift from efficient LED lighting to luminaire level lighting controls (LLLCs).

Minnesota’s Efficient Technology Accelerator (ETA) is a statewide market transformation program that accelerates deployment and reduces the cost of emerging and innovative efficient technologies, bringing lower energy bills and environmental benefits to Minnesotans. ETA is a partnership funded by the state’s investor-owned utilities (IOUs), administered by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources (DER), and implemented by Center for Energy and Environment (CEE).
