The holiday festivities kick off with the Magical Montana Christmas Lights Contest and the start of the Grinch on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt, setting the festive tone for the season. Families can enjoy FREE open skating at the Richland Ranger Hockey Dome from 12 PM to 2 PM, perfect for all ages. Following the ice time, join us at the VFW for FREE movie and pictures with the Grinch from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

As evening falls, the excitement continues with the Magical Montana Christmas Parade of Lights through downtown Sidney at 6:30 PM. After the parade, head over to the Yellowstone Merc for live entertainment with Kyle & Friends, and keep the celebration going with a festive holiday party at the Ranger Lounge & Casino. It’s a full day of holiday cheer and community fun you won’t want to miss!

Celebrate the season and support local at Sidney’s Shop Small Saturday! Kick off the day with Pancakes & Pajamas at the Moose Lodge, featuring a festive morning with Santa’s Workshop, a letter-writing station, kids coloring contest, and a Grinch photo op. Then head downtown from 10 AM to 4 PM for a full day of shopping and the always popular the Shop Small Saturday Vendor Show at the Yellowstone Merc. Cap off your day with the Christmas Cocktail Crawl from 12–8 PM, where participating businesses will be serving up seasonal sips and holiday cheer. This year at the Giving Tuesday Gala, we’re honored to support four outstanding local nonprofits: Adopt‑A‑Senior, Gifts From the Heart, the Richland County Food Bank, and Lower Yellowstone ABATE. This inspiring organization provides life-changing opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities through sports training, competitions, health screenings, and leadership programs that promote inclusion both on and off the field. By taking the plunge, you’re making a real difference! Ice bags will be available for purchase and a warming hut will be on-site.

During the Eastern Montana Polar Plunge, warm up your evening with the delicious Chili & Cinnamon Roll Showdown from 4PM to 6PM. Sample a variety of mouthwatering chili recipes alongside sweet, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, all prepared by local businesses competing for the top prize. Whether you crave spicy, savory, or sweet, there’s something to satisfy every appetite. Come hungry and enjoy this tasty holiday tradition with friends and family! All proceeds benefit ROI and Montana Special Olympics.
