For our fourth annual GALA event, we  are  turning  the Community Courtyard into a SPEAKEASY right out of the 1920s. On September 26th, after entering through the back door with a TOP SECRET password and sneaking through an alley - you’ll find an underground casino, flappers, gangsters, jazz music, an exquisite dinner, hotsy-totsy desserts,  and (shhh!) a cash bar with the finest selection of giggle water.  There will also be some cigars and a designated smoking area outside.  We’ll end the night with Feel the Music DJ and the current century’s take on  20’s  party  music!  This is a 21+ event.

The Community Courtyard is a historical building & non-profit organization. It relies on donations and event rentals to finance the maintenance and improvement of our 136 year old brick building. The Courtyard Gala is not only a fundraising event, but also a celebration of COMMUNITY and the people who live and work here in the area. Part of the night will be dedicated to honoring two community members with the “John Enderle Helping Hands Award,” & the “Plattsburg Community Leadership Award.”

Nomination sheets will be passed along to all local businesses and organizations. Winners will be voted on by our board of directors. We hope that those who receive these awards know how much value they bring to our community. Small towns don’t thrive without people who take action and help out when and where they see a need.

Our goal as a non-profit organization is to offer an attractive and safe space for private, civic, and community events through the preservation of this beautiful 10,000 sq. ft. building. A building that serves as the heart and gathering place of Plattsburg, Missouri & its surrounding communities.
