Why We Sing!

Students entering grades 6-12 are invited to join us for this FREE event to sing together with Kantorei and an ensemble of professional singers. There will be a final concert open to family and friends!
Throughout the day, participants will learn new music, sing with exceptional musicians, and experience the power of voices raised together in song.
Participants will hear personal testimonials from our professional ensemble, including those formative moments that turned them towards a lifetime of music—complete with interactive musical demonstrations! As a special experience for students, the entirety of Why We Sing! will be filmed as a documentary that can be shared with friends and family.
All students attending will be required to sign a media release.

About Kantorei
Kantorei is a 501c3 non-profit organization with a history of serving Rockford-area youth through choral music experience since 1964. Our mission is to provide musical education and enrichment to children in Northern Illinois through exposure to high-quality musicianship, and careful training in the fundamentals of music-making with a focus on techniques that foster vocal health in the lifelong singer.
