Stephen Torscher
partner
Stephen is a co-chair of the employment practice group. He provides trusted advice to clients on a wide range of labour and employment issues. His practice covers all aspects of employment relations from hiring to firing. He prides himself on providing practical answers to complicated questions.

Stephen has advised clients on a range of human resource matters including employment contracts, workplace policies, grievances and arbitrations, employee discipline, and terminations. He has provided strategic advice to vendors and purchasers of businesses in Alberta in order to manage transactional employee issues. He has acted as counsel in litigation concerning wrongful dismissal, human rights, employment standards, and labour arbitrations. He has represented individuals, small businesses, large national corporations, and everything in between.
Lauren Barteluk
partner
Lauren regularly advises both employees and employers on human rights issues and on all aspects of employment, including terminations of employment, harassment, disability issues, workplace policies, employment standards, disciplinary issues, and occupational health and safety issues. Lauren also has experience in matters related to labour law, and has represented clients in collective bargaining, before labour boards, and at arbitrations, conciliations, and mediations.

Lauren has appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal and all levels of courts in Alberta, as well as before the courts in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
