Fussell joined the Exchange Club of Albany, GA, in 1997, and is now also a member of the Exchange Club of Lee County, Georgia, for which he was a club builder.  Fussell has held a number of positions within his Exchange Club District, including District President.  He is a Volunteer Field Representative of The National Exchange Club and was elected Region 10 Vice President in 2023.  Fussell has assisted in building two Exchange Clubs and has sponsored a number of new Exchange Club members.
Before partnering with his wife's family in 1984 to open a hardware business, Fussell worked in the farm supply business.  He operated the hardware business until his retirement in 2019.  Fussell lives in Albany, Georgia, with his wife Elise.  He has three children, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one dog, Carabelle.  In their spare time Fussell and Elise enjoy their lake house and having family and friends visit.
