Lauren Gideon serves as the Director of Government Relations for Classical Conversations, where she advances education independence and encourages families to reclaim their God-given role as primary educators. With a background in grassroots advocacy, civic education, and the teaching of foundational principles, she delights in applying enduring principles of liberty to the civic and cultural challenges of our day. Lauren and her husband live on a homestead, where they have homeschooled their seven children—two of whom have graduated. She believes liberty is a providential gift—entrusted to us, not merely to preserve, but to cultivate for generations to come.

The Need for Discipleship Has Never Been Greater
As the Acting President for 2025, Pastor Overton is proud to advocate for homeschooling in our churches. He has seen firsthand the benefit to local SBC churches when family discipleship and home education are combined into biblically centered practices. Pastor Tim Overton was ordained by South Avenue Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and philosophy from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Kingston Avenue Baptist Church called him as pastor in July of 2017.  He had served as Kingston's interim pastor since January of that year.

Navigating the College Search Process
P. Jesse Rine is Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Academic Faithfulness & Flourishing. An award-winning professor and nationally recognized expert on Christian higher education, Dr. Rine has served in faculty and administrative roles on three faith-based campuses: Grove City College, Duquesne University, and North Greenville University. He previously directed the research programs of two national higher education associations in Washington, DC, the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). Dr. Rine’s scholarship has been published in numerous edited volumes and academic journals, and he currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Christian Higher Education: An International Journal of Research, Theory, and Practice. He holds a B.A. in Christian Thought from Grove City College, an M.A.T. in Latin from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Virginia.

Resources and Connections for Successful Homeschooling
Nathan Macias, President of the Texas Home School Coalition, is a retired USAF Lt Col. and small business owner. He served as a Texas state legislator and as Executive Director of Patriot Academy. Nathan and his author/speaker wife, Susan, homeschooled their seven children and have welcomed six in-law children and 13 grandchildren. They homeschooled in Ohio, California, Florida, Delaware, and Texas, which far exceeds any other state when it comes to education freedom.

Kyle Nichols
Director of Promotions and Outside Sales, Classical Conversations
Extending Your Church's Mission Through Christian Education
Kyle Nichols serves as Director of Promotions and Outside Sales for Classical Conversations, where he has spent over three years championing Christ-centered education for families across the nation. Currently pursuing his Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, he brings both business leadership and theological training to his work with churches and families.
As a deacon at his Southern Baptist church in North Carolina and father to two young sons, he is personally invested in the discipleship of the next generation. Through his work with Classical Conversations, he has witnessed how churches that embrace educational ministry see strengthened families, deeper community connections, and renewed commitment to raising children who know God and make Him known.
Kyle Nichols is passionate about equipping Southern Baptist churches to support families seeking to educate their children with a biblical worldview, creating kingdom impact that extends far beyond Sunday morning.
