About the Conference
The 2026 Atlantic Emergency Management Conference (AEMC) will take place October 20–21 at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre in Membertou, Nova Scotia. This year’s theme, Strengthening Roots, speaks to the importance of building strong foundations, deepening relationships, and supporting emergency preparedness across Atlantic First Nations communities.

AEMC 2026 will bring together emergency managers, first responders, health and safety professionals, researchers, community leaders, and government representatives from across Atlantic Canada. Over two days, the event will include:

• Expert speakers from across the region
• Hands-on workshops and breakout sessions
• Tools, technology, and practical approaches
• Time to connect with other EM professionals and those in related fields

Hosted by the North Shore Mi’kmaq Tribal Council (NSMTC), the Wolastoqey Tribal Council Inc. (WTCI), and the Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq (CMM), in partnership with the Union of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq (UNSM) and Membertou, AEMC is about sharing knowledge, strengthening regional collaboration, and continuing to grow together.
