2026 Solstice One Day
Virtual Zen Sesshin
Join Randy Wolbert, Rōshi; Karina Solovieff, Sensei; Alexandre Tzermias, Sensei for an intro to Zen Sesshins
Human beings possess an intrinsic potential for a life characterized by fulfillment, understanding, and compassion. We can feel connected to each other and the earth’s ecology. We can act justly and shape our world for everyone's benefit.

Zen is the practice of meditation and has roots in many of the world’s spiritual traditions. Zen is a practice not a religion. This means that Zen can be practiced by everyone without anyone feeling compelled to join or leave a religion.

The word sesshin means "to touch the mind." Sesshins are typically 4-8 days in length and provide an opportunity to devote several days or more to our practice. Each day of sesshin includes sitting (zazen), walking (kinhin), work, talks (teisho), individual meetings with the teacher (dokusan) and silent meals. This is a one-day opportunity to get a taste of the practice or if you already have a practice, to sit with others for the day. Orientation to the practice of Zen and to the structure of Zen sesshins will be given Saturday morning at 9 AM EDT.
