Carol LaFayette-Boyd
Carol LaFayette-Boyd of Regina was named the World Masters Athletics (WMA) Female Athlete of the Year in 2023. In 2022, she broke six world records in the W80+ age category (two indoor and four outdoor) Carol received 5 gold medals at the World Masters Track & Field Indoor Championships in Malaga, Spain 2018.
Born to descendants of those who came to Canada in 1906 from Iowa and 1910 from Oklahoma. Carol lived and worked in the United States in 1966 to 1972 except for 1968, when she worked in Regina Munro Wing, General Hospital. Carol has lived in Regina, Sask since then.
Carol credits her faith for her strength and resilience amidst the passing of some of her loved ones. She is the proud grandmother of three and great-grandmother of four.
