AI & Philanthropy: Discernment, Innovation & Generosity

This event, hosted by Generous Life, explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of generosity, philanthropy, and human flourishing. As AI accelerates across every sector, this event creates space to engage its promise and its risks, not from fear or hype, but from wisdom, faith, and a commitment to keeping generosity deeply human.

The event will feature a keynote conversation with John Kim, whose recent address at Harvard has helped shape emerging conversations around AI, ethics, and discernment. Through his insights, storytelling, and guided reflection, participants will explore how innovation can serve human dignity, expand impact, and strengthen trust in an AI-driven world, centering not just on what technology can do, but on what it should do.

We will also be joined by Lindsey Paulsen, Digital Innovation at Opportunity International. Opportunity International equips families living in extreme poverty with the financial tools, training, and now digital infrastructure they need to participate in a rapidly digitizing global economy. For nearly 50 years, Opportunity has built market-based systems in microfinance, agriculture, and education that strengthen resilience and unlock productivity. Today, through their Digital Innovation Group, Opportunity deploys human-centered AI tools, from regenerative agriculture advisory platforms for smallholder farmers to AI teaching assistants in low-resource schools, that strengthen productivity, improve decision-making, and expand economic participation at scale.

Opportunity International believes technology, when guided by strong values and disciplined capital, can accelerate families out of poverty with dignity and lasting impact.

Along side John and Lindsey, Rev. Dr. David H. Kim, CEO and co-foudner of Goldenwood will be joining us. Goldenwood cultivates spiritually attentive communities to envision work enlivened by hope and expressing the fullness of our humanity. Goldenwood offers a variety of programs and resources to help individuals and organizations reimagine how work could be transformed not just for our lifetime but for future generations. We invite you to hear again, dream anew, and grow together.

Designed to be both intellectually engaging and spiritually grounded, this gathering brings together donors, founders, technologists, faith-driven leaders, and those curious about the future of impact. Guests will leave with a clearer framework for responsibly engaging with AI in their personal giving, organizations, and communities, while forming meaningful connections in a hospitable, reflective environment shaped by generosity and trust.

Please RSVP below and join us on March 18th.
