Our mentorship programs are designed to hone leadership and professional skills. Mentors guide development and help identify and achieve career goals.

NYSAFP is pleased to offer two different mentorship opportunities:

The Leadership Program provides mentorship opportunities to practicing NYSAFP members.  

Program goals include:
- increasing and diversifying Academy leadership
- providing professional support to Academy members

Mentors will receive resources and potential discussion topics to support their mentoring activities and will be expected to commit to bi-monthly meetings (virtual or in-person).

Mentees will be expected to commit to bi-monthly meetings (virtual or in-person) with their Mentor.

The Student Mentor Program helps students:
- navigate medical school
- identify residency programs
- cultivate skills

Mentors have the opportunity to help students learn about the breadth and opportunities family medicine provides.
