Principal, Perkins&Will | Professor & Former Dean, University of Miami School of Architecture
Jose A. Gelabert-Navia AIA  is a Professor and former Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Miami. A graduate of Cornell University, Jose has been part of the Faculty since 1981. He is the author of numerous articles as well as 7 books of his drawings documenting his travels. 

Prof. Gelabert-Navia founded the Miami Studio of Perkins&Will which he headed for 16 years. More recently his practice has focused on Latin America with active projects throughout the region as well as starting new Studios in Brazil and Mexico. 

For the last two years he has led a combined professional and academic team in the design of the first totally resilient new City in South America: SILICA CITY in Guyana. The lecture will present the vision and the Master Plan for the new town, the strategies involved planned development through design and construction.
