Launch of The Lancet Series on
Antimicrobial Resistance
Join us for the live stream on May 28!
The global fight for better health outcomes and decades of progress in treating infections are at risk due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will hold a high-level meeting in September 2024 to discuss this present and growing threat. To bolster the momentum gained from this watershed moment in the battle to control AMR, a Lancet series was commissioned to provide crucial data, evidence, and policy recommendations to serve as the cornerstone for a U.N. resolution addressing AMR.

Ahead of the UNGA high-level meeting on AMR, we will launch the Lancet series at a side event at this year's World Health Assembly in Geneva. To introduce the series of papers, we will bring together the authors, AMR experts, policymakers, and civil society members for a symposium touching on the current burden of AMR, the need to expand antibiotic access and innovation, and to promote the establishment of global targets and governance for action.

While the in-person launch event in Geneva, Switzerland is invitation-only with limited capacity, we want to ensure everyone interested in this important conversation can attend the event virtually. Register to watch the live stream of the premiere of this crucial publication at this pivotal point in the global effort to control AMR.
