Life doesn’t always move the way we expect. Anchored Within is a five-week women’s gathering centered on cultivating deep, lasting happiness — the kind that isn’t dependent on perfect circumstances.
Through guided reflection, meaningful conversation, and supportive small-group discussion, we’ll explore what grounds us, what truly brings us joy, and how to protect our peace in the midst of life’s currents. Join us for connection, encouragement, and practical tools to help you live with greater happiness and steadiness every day.
Light appetizers will be provided each evening, allowing you to arrive, exhale, and settle in without rushing. We’ll meet for 90 minutes once a week for five weeks at 5:30 PM, creating a consistent space to pause, reflect, and reconnect in a setting that feels both grounding and inspiring.
Imagine ending your day dockside on the water, surrounded by supportive women, nourishing conversation, and a renewed sense of steadiness inside yourself.

Instructors
Dr. Ruth Hellams
We are thrilled to welcome back Dr. Ruth Hellams, who served as the guest speaker at the Rise & Thrive Women’s Conference and left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. Her message resonated deeply with women across our community, inspiring meaningful reflection, connection, and growth.
Dr. Hellams brings over 35 years of experience as an educational leader and holds a Doctorate in Leadership from the University of California San Diego and the California State University San Marcos Joint Doctoral Program. Throughout her career, she has served as a school district leader, school principal, and classroom teacher, dedicating her life to helping others learn, grow, and lead with purpose.
Now “semi-retired,” Ruth continues to share her knowledge and passion as a workforce facilitator for Mohave Community College, a national education consultant, and an adjunct faculty member at several colleges and universities.
Ruth describes herself as a joyful person who believes deeply in the power of connection, encouragement, and lifelong learning. She is especially passionate about supporting and uplifting women and strengthening the communities we live in, helping others discover their own voice, purpose, and resilience.
While her professional accomplishments are many, Ruth considers her greatest life achievements to be being the wife of a retired U.S. Marine, the mother of three amazing children, and the proud grandmother of six.
Brea Chiodini
Brea Chiodini is an entrepreneur, community builder, and passionate advocate for creating experiences that bring people together in meaningful ways. As co-owner of Laughlin River Tours and London Bridge Jet Boat Tours, she has spent more than 15 years helping guests experience the beauty and adventure of the Colorado River while building a family-owned business rooted in hospitality and community.
Brea is also the founder of the Rise & Thrive Women’s Conference, an event created to inspire connection, personal growth, and empowerment among women in the region. The conference brings together speakers, educators, and wellness leaders who share tools and insights to help women step more fully into their purpose and potential.
Following the incredible response to Rise & Thrive, Brea felt called to create more intimate spaces where deeper conversations and personal reflection could take place. This vision led to Anchored Within, a collaborative experience she is hosting alongside Dr. Ruth Hellams. Together, they aim to create a welcoming environment where women can reconnect with themselves, strengthen their inner foundation, and build meaningful connections with others in the community.
Brea believes that when women gather with intention, they create powerful ripple effects—within themselves, their families, and the communities they serve.
