APA-KY Spring Golf Outing at Dale Hollow Golf Course
Dale Hollow Lake has bent grass trees leading to Zoysia Fairways and large, undulating bent grass greens. The 61 bunkers are framed by Zoysia. Most of the holes have moderate to severe elevation changes. Other course features include numerous rock outcroppings, small caves, springs, gorges, two ponds, and mountain views.  Golf Digest magazine consistently ranks Dale Hollow as one of the top 10 courses in Kentucky.

Bourbon Tasting and Distillery Tour at Southern Kentucky Distillery

Guided Hike to Eagles Point (1.5 CM)
Eagles Point is reputed to be the finest overlook on Dale Hollow Lake, offering vistas into Tennessee and views of the lake, islands, and surrounding countryside. It is a leisurely .8-mile hike to the overlook and .8 miles back. Please dress accordingly and wear proper footwear.  And during the hike, hear about the history of Dale Hollow Lake and how this and other state parks continue to attract numerous visitors every year.

Louisville Metro is not immune to this, as is discussed in the recently released 2024 Housing Needs Assessment. Session 6 - Building a New Clarksville (1.0 CM)

Over the past five years, the Town of Clarksville, Indiana has been creating a new downtown from scratch.  The historic downtown, wiped out in the 1937 flood, was replaced by now vacant industrial sites.  The Town is using this space to construct a new downtown from scratch, something few modern planners have the opportunity to do.

When the city of New Albany approached University of Louisville’s Dr. Sumei Zhang and asked her whether their city could support an edutainment center, she asked, 'What exactly is edutainment?' From the initial stages of defining edutainment and assessing its potential supply to conducting a comprehensive analysis of the two prospective locations, our class embarked on a journey to explore the feasibility and impact of such an endeavor. We aimed to uncover insights that would inform the city’s decision-making regarding the establishment of an innovative center.

When it comes to community growth, especially at a rapid pace, the transportation system is a critical component to the success and sustainability of that growth. It is vital that federal, state, and local transportation officials work side-by-side with city and county planning and zoning agencies to ensure that needs are met in a way that promotes growth while adequately addressing both safety and mobility. The KYTC Department of Highways and the City of Elizabethtown have created a partnership with a commitment to address these needs and challenges head-on as a team. This session will talk about the transportation challenges with community growth, how teamwork and collaboration can be utilized to meet those challenges, and statistics on innovative intersections and controlled corridors.
