The 2023 App State Alumni Club Lacrosse game will be held in honor of Scott Turner on Sept 17th, 2023 at State Farm Fields at App State University. Scott Michael Turner, age 32, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022.
Scott was born on April 4, 1990.Scott graduated from App State in 2013. He was a member of the club lacrosse team #7 and became known as "coach". He was a friend, teammate, and coach to all. Money raised from the game, t-shirt sales, and raffles will be evenly donated to the club lacrosse team and the Mental Health Of Central Carolinas in Charlotte, NC.
Whether you are an App lacrosse alumni or not, you are welcome and encouraged to come to the game and social gathering. This will be a fun-filled day where old teammates, friends, coaches, classmates, and family get together and reconnect while we honor and remember Scott. After the game, we will have a social gathering at a local restaurant in Boone.

Schedule
Saturday Sept 16th, 2023:
App Vs. ECU
App State Football plays ECU at 3:30 pm! There will be tons of groups tagliating around campus before the game. The App State Club Lacrosse team will also be hosting a tailgate at a current player's house on oak street and wanted to extend the offer to the alumni to come through and have some fellowship before the game. Sunday Sept 17th, 2023:
Alumni Game
The event will start at 10:30 am at State Farm Fields. We will have tables set up where you can pick up your t-shirts. After the game, feel free to come to Rivers Street Ale House for some food and drinks before we all travel back home.
We think the event will run from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm. We are estimating around 70 people to be there including lots of kiddos!
The lacrosse game will start promptly at 11:00 am. We reserved two fields so we can have 2 games going on at once if there are surplus players. As of right now, we have 17 alumni signed up to play the current club lacrosse team. We can share teammates if needed. We also plan on having a "longest shot" competition during the event for any to participate in.
Players: All players must be at the field by 10:30 am to get their shirts and warm up for the game. Please bring a stick, helmet, gloves and your own drinks. The club lacrosse team will bring extra equipment and pinnies if anyone needs. If you have any extra equipment at home, please bring it for friends to use. If you have any lacrosse related questions, please email the club team president Eli Poole [email protected] for more information!
Fans: Please arrive between 10:30- 11:00 am to get your t-shirt. Bring your chairs, blanket, tent, etc in case there aren't any bleachers. We will have yellow and black pom poms to share with fans. If you ordered a t-shirt but can not attend the event, we will mail you the shirt within the next week!
