James Richärd, AIA
Partner Richärd Kennedy Architects

Jim has over thirty-five years of experience in planning, public work, design, and construction of complex and high-profile projects. With broad-ranging architectural experience, he has specialized expertise in the design of teaching laboratories, classroom buildings, higher education, diplomatic and academic research buildings.
His design process lends itself to multi-discipline clients. Jim’s ability to integrate user needs and engineering requirements into the design of the facility is quite successful. He has extensive experience in facilitating the design process and technical knowledge for problem-solving. Jim’s integrated approach to sustainable design has resulted in award-winning environmentally premier architecture.

Jim has been the recipient of the 2014 the University of Arizona Alumni of the Year, 2013 AIA Arizona Firm of the Year Award, and the 2008 AIA Arizona Architect’s Medal.

Henry Tom, FAIA
Principal Line and Space

An integral member of Line and Space since 1987, Henry is an excellent designer and provides critical input and direction for all of the firm’s projects. Line and Space’s work is a program based with a strong emphasis on the response to place and resource conservation. His work is known internationally and has been recognized by its peers through the receipt of over 130 architectural and environmental design awards.

His design for the US Fish and Wildlife Service San Diego National Wildlife Refuge Complex has received numerous awards and includes indoor and outdoor areas for interpretation, education space, and exterior gathering areas. Flowing Wells Library Expansion, and the recently completed Sahuarita Regional Library have received local and regional awards from the AIA. His recently completed design for the new UA Andrew Weil Center for Integrated Medicine will be completed in the Summer of 2023.

In 2018 Henry was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows for his design contributions to the field of architecture. He is a past recipient of the AIA Arizona Architect's medal, the highest honor given in the state for design achievement, and the AIA Arizona Young Architect Citation.
