Carols & Arias: A Christmas Celebration of Faith and Harmony
Come join us for a wonderful event where the Lord's beauty is revealed through music. A matinee performance of classical and Christmas music featuring Royal Academy of London trained mezzosoprano Andrea Rodriguez-Gomez accompanied by consummate pianist Carlisle Mott. Additionally, our own Saint Elizabeth's vocalist/cantor Mary Ferguson and guitarist Wanda Ortiz will deliver liturgical performances.

Andrea Rodrigez-Gomez (sample song Canzonetta Spagnuoula - Rossini) is a mezzo-soprano studying at the Royal Academy of Music under Nuccia Focile. Born in the United States, Andrea has performed internationally in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and in competitions such as Corsica Lirica International Competition in Ghisonaccia, Corsica. During and preceding her time at the Academy, she has performed a wide range of repertoire including Opera, Art Song, and Oratorio. Stemming from her Puerto Rican roots, Andrea has a particular affinity for Spanish songs. In the summer of 2023, Andrea performed the role of Dritte Dame in Die Zaberflöte with LAHSOW and Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier in concert with Varna International.

Carlisle is an active pianist based in Greenville, Texas. He started learning piano at age 8 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance in 2021 from the Texas A&M Commerce University studying under Dr. Luis Sanchez. Carlisle performs classical, jazz, and sacred styles of music. He has played services for the Highland Park United Methodist Church as well as the St. Paul United Methodist Church located in Dallas. He currently works as a church pianist and accompanist in the Greenville area, and continues to study classical piano under Dr. David Karp.

Mary Ferguson is a cantor/vocalist and music coordinator at St Elizabeth, among other roles. In Mary's own words, "I am thankful and blessed that I have been given the gift to Sing to the Lord".

Wanda Ortiz is a consummate guitarist. Her biggest musical joy is playing liturgical music on guitar at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Bonham. Being active in the music ministry of St. Elizabeth has helped to deepen her spiritual life.
