If you know Katy, running the 2023 Boston Marathon is a love story to both the race itself and the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), the organization from which she and her family adopted their dog, Pierce. She is honored to be running on Marathon Monday to raise funds to support ARL’s mission to be an unwavering champion for animals in need, committed to keeping them safe and healthy in habitats and homes, which she witnessed first hand with Pierce.
Pierce is a quirky dog, and Katy has little doubt that he wouldn’t have made it to their home if it wasn’t for the commitment of the staff and volunteers at ARL. While it hasn’t been easy, Pierce has flourished in their home and he relishes his role as big brother to his two small human brothers. Katy, John, and their two boys couldn’t imagine a life without Pierce— his goofiness, soulful gazes, stinky ears, zoomies and all— in fact, the running joke (or wish!) is that he will outlive us all, and this life couldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of ARL.
Please help Katy achieve her goal of raising over $10,000 to support an indispensable and impactful local organization which goes above and beyond to not only animals in need, but our community as well.
