Volunteer Agreement
Volunteers for the A Taste of New Kent Wine Festival, whose shift concludes before the end of the event are welcome to stay to enjoy the festival once their shift concludes. Volunteers must bring a change of shirt if they plan to do so—No wine will be served to anyone wearing a volunteer t-shirt at any time during the course of the event. Drinking before or during your volunteer shift is strictly prohibited and any violation will result in the volunteer being removed from the festival. Volunteers relieved from their duties due to a violation of this code of conduct will not be free to enjoy the festival and will be escorted out. They may re-enter the festival at their own expense by purchasing an event ticket at the gate.

Pledge Between Volunteer & The New Kent Chamber of Commerce
 I understand and agree that as a volunteer with the  New Kent Chamber of Commerce I am responsible for the following: 

• I will respect and observe the rights of others at all times
• I will not consume alcohol during or before my volunteer shift.
• I will interact with all staff, public, and other volunteers in a courteous, cordial manner & expect the same in return, and that I will exhibit courtesy/helpfulness/respect to all people regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, age, gender, sexual preference, physical/mental capacity, or economic/social status.
• I will maintain a professional appearance, dress and grooming.
• I understand that the New Kent Chamber of Commerce prohibits abuse, use of firearms, and consumption of alcohol and drugs before and during all events.
• I will accept training and guidance, as negotiated with the Volunteer Coordinator, from staff and committee members.
• I will work without monetary compensation, but having been accepted as a non-paid team member, I expect to do my work promptly and according to standards.
• I will notify the Volunteer Coordinator or Committee Chair of any problems, suggestions, and/or concerns regarding my assignment or the agency.
• I enter the “A Taste of New Kent Wine Festival” at my own risk and the New Kent Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for my/our possessions. I waive any and all rights to claims in the event of damage, theft, loss or personal injury.

The New Kent Chamber of Commerce understands and agrees to provide the above named volunteer the following:

• A description that summarizes the duties of the job placement and limits of responsibilities.
• Orientation to the agency; rules and policies; on-the-job training; supervision; guidance;  and support.
• Accurate record keeping of the volunteer’s involvement & references when requested.
• Appropriate recognition of the volunteer.
• Safe and adequate space, equipment, and working conditions for the volunteer.
