The BBA / Lower Rio Grande Valley Assembly 2026 gathers clergy, lay leaders, and congregations for two days of worship, learning, service, and connection centered on Jesus’ call to live a visible, transformative faith in the world.

Hosted at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in San Marcos, the Assembly opens Friday afternoon with hands-on mission and service opportunities supporting local ministry, followed by a rich slate of breakout seminars addressing reconciliation, faithful witness, and the lived realities of Hispanic congregations along the border.

Friday seminars include:
- “Racism and Pro-Reconciliation” with Rev. Al Walker
 - “Living a Visible Faith” with Rev. Dr. Dawn Rosignol
 - “El Extranjero Entre Nosotros” (Spanish-language seminar) with Rev. Hector Pena, exploring the impact of immigration enforcement on Valley churches

These seminars count toward continuing education requirements for clergy.

The evening continues with music and praise at FCC San Marcos and worship featuring preaching by Rev. William Reilly.

Saturday’s gathering includes:
- Children’s activities and mini-VBS
 - The Business Meeting
 - A ministry report from Rev. Filiberto Pereira
 - A keynote address by Rev. Dr. Andy Mangum
 - Closing prayer and sending forth led by Rev. Dr. Layne Beamer

Rooted in worship, shaped by learning, and grounded in service, the BBA / LRGVD Assembly 2026 invites participants to reflect on what it means to shine Christ’s light—faithfully, courageously, and visibly—in their communities and beyond.
