Join us at our Hybrid  Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 18, 2021. The LIVE broadcast event promises to be an immersive and engaging experience featuring a keynote address by the CEO of Ebony and Jet Magazine, Michele Thornton Ghee and YOU.

Join us In Person at the Charles River Studios for a special experience featuring diner by ZaZ Catering, music by DJ Chris Roxx, connect with BECMA members and its Board of Directors in a COVID safe environment. OR gather a small group of friends and enjoy dinner by ZaZ Restaurant, a Party in a Box with gift items and online event access details delivered to your door on the day of the event.

The night begins with a Cocktail Reception with entertainment by DJ Chris Roxx spinning R&B hits and networking Green Rooms to mix and mingle with other. The Program will feature remarks by the President and CEO of BECMA, Segun Idowu and a Keynote Address by Michele Thornton Ghee. More than 400 guests are expected to attend in person or virtually, including sponsors, BECMA members, business owners, corporate and civic leaders, philanthropists, as well as community leaders.

The Annual Meeting is the kick off to the Mass. Black Expo weekend— an annual conference and trade show for Black businesses and professionals. — LET’S CLAIM OUR POWER, TOGETHER!

COVID COMPLIANCE: The health and safety of all guests and those working is our top priority. About BECMA's Annual Meeting
Our Annual Meeting is a way to highlight the accomplishments of the organization, celebrate the genius of our members, and forecast our priorities and plans for the upcoming year. Past speakers have included Donna Brazile, Denmark West, Simone Jordan, Robert Rivers, and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, along with honorees like Malia Lazu, Darryl Settles, the Black Boston Hospitality Coalition, and Shelley Webster.

BECMA's Annual Meeting Program
Opening remarks by Segun Idowu highlighting the accomplishments of the organization. The program will feature a keynote address with Michele Thornton Ghee and engage with our audience. The program will also honor the achievements of those who contributed to the enhancement of BECMA and its members or the broader community. Director Emeritus Awards will be given to Priscilla Flint-Banks and a posthumous dedication to Elizabeth “Beth” Williams.

Keynote Speaker
Michele Thornton Ghee
Ghee is a transformational leader that has generated over $1B in revenue while working for some of the most powerful media companies in the world including WME, CNN, A&E, The History Channel, and BET Networks. While at BET, Michele created and ran the first and only network for Black women: BETHer. She began her career at SBC Communications in Oakland, California and is now the CEO of the iconic Black media brands: EBONY and Jet.

Ghee has received the following awards and honors: Multichannel News 2019 Wonder Woman, Working Mother of the Year Award Class of 2018, The ADCOLOR Change Agent Award, and The American Advertising Federation Mosaic Role Model of the Year Award, to name a few.

Ghee has authored three books and is a highly sought-after public speaker.
Ghee graduated college at 31 and was later honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from her alma mater, Golden Gate University.
She resides in New Jersey with husband, Tony, and kids, Taylor and Jordan.
