Between Bird Cherry and Lilac
A show by ceramist Anne Geisz
CHUTE Gallery is thrilled to share this series of work from the ever-thoughtful Anne Geisz. Here is a preview from the artist herself:

"Mellan hägg och syren (between bird cherry and lilac) - A Swedish phrase referring to a blissful, fleeting period in spring that occurs in between the blooming of the Bird Cherry and the blossoming of the Lilac...My work acts as a sounding board for listening to the world around me and picking out moments of beauty to hold onto and honor. This reflection within the work provides hope in a world filled with violence, and encourages action beyond listening."

We hope you're able to share this blissful, fleeting evening with us!

Heavy appetizers and beverages will be served. All friends of friends are welcome, but given the delicate nature of Anne's pieces, we ask that guests are of an age that they can avoid bumping into / grabbing / accidentally destroying the ceramics. (Sorry, kids!)

About the artist
Anne Geisz is an artist and art therapist currently living and working in St. Louis. Originally from Denver, she received her BFA in ceramics, with a concentration in psychology from Colorado State University. She went on to study at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she received her MA in Counseling and Art Therapy. As a trauma-informed therapist, much of her clay work acts as a personal tool for processing and explores materials through the lens of art therapy.

Between Bird Cherry and Lilac is a collection of work created since graduating with her Master’s degree. Many of the pieces are her own response to stories, experiences and thoughts had while working as a therapist since.
