ABOUT BIOJEMMSS
Biojemmss is a Christian charity rescuing children from abuse and exploitation, restoring them through holistic care, and empowering them, their families, and communities to build safe and sustainable futures.
Biojemmss began in 2007 with a single, urgent act of protection. Eighteen vulnerable children and young people were rescued from an unregulated residential facility where they had endured significant abuse.
They were brought to a safe home in Rukungiri — a place where they could finally rest, heal, and begin to rebuild their lives. What started as an emergency response quickly became a calling: to ensure that no child would ever again be left without safety, dignity, or hope. The name Biojemmss is made up of the initial letters of the names of the children who were rescued.
From those first eighteen children, the organisation has grown into a holistic, community‑rooted charity serving thousands each year — always driven by the same commitment to rescue, restoration, and lasting freedom. Biojemmss works not only with orphans but also with families through initiatives such as land-loaning, emergency hampers, fostering, school fees and safeguarding training to name a few.
Through our Water Project we are now providing safe drinking water for local families, and have recently begun our biggest project yet - laying the foundations for our Community Centre from which we will be able to expand this vital work.
