After the success of our regeneration project at BlueTech Forum 2022 in Vancouver, Canada, we are thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with Biomatrix Water to build our second floating aquatic ecosystem on the Water of Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Flowing for around twenty-four miles from its source in the Pentland Hills, the Water of Leith winds its way through the historical city of Edinburgh, to its outflow into the Firth of Forth at Leith.
Floating on the Water of Leith, our aquatic ecosystems will consist of interlocking floating platforms made from coir, a coconut fibre, upon which the plant life will be housed. The mini ecosystem will grow in harmony with the local environment, providing a safe haven for birds and supporting animals including fish, amphibians, insects and microbiology.
Building a floating aquatic ecosystem is thirsty work! We are delighted to be partnering with Lind & Lime who will be hosting our delegates at their wonderful gin distillery in Leith. After the raft building is complete, you will be welcomed with an all-important G&T and taken on an exclusive tour around the distillery.
This special, off-program project will be taking place on Tuesday 16th May from 14:00 - 18:00.
Registration to the forum does not automatically include participation (although registration is required to qualify) and spaces are capped at 50.
We would love to invite our BlueTech Forum delegates to join us for this special project. Spaces are extremely limited and we will be operating on a first come, first served basis.
