Inaugural Research Symposium Hosted by MCW BNGAP Chapter
The MCW chapter of Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians (BNGAP) is excited to announce its Inaugural Research Symposium on
Monday, April 1st, 2024.

BNGAP is a student organization dedicated to providing diverse medical students and residents with the resources they need to explore and pursue a career in academic medicine. This local research symposium is perfect for URiM students, faculty, residents, and physicians to network and engage in a safe and supportive environment!

In addition to social networking, this symposium will host the work of medical student researchers of all projects and education levels, with spots reserved for poster presentations and two unique oral presentations.

We have a strong review committee in place to judge our reviewers on the day of the event, but we invite all symposium attendees to discuss the presented projects with the students. This feedback serves to educate and encourage our presenters in their future projects.

The Box MKE caters for this event, and there will be several opportunities to network with all attendees. Monetary awards will be given for the top 3 highest-ranked poster and oral presentations, as determined by a panel of resident physician judges. The Symposium will also feature a renowned keynote speaker to end the evening.

We hope to see you there!

Abstract Submissions

These poster or oral presentations can represent any medical specialty and all forms of research projects conducted within and outside the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Examples of presentations would include bench research, case reports, clinical and translational projects, and more.

Abstract submission for the BNGAP Research Symposium will be open via the Qualtrics form below.

Abstracts submission will close on January 22nd at 11:59pm.

Abstract Submissions are now closed.
Review Committee

For our upcoming BNGAP Research Symposium, we would like to extend the opportunity for medical students of any class to review submitted abstracts on a committee comprised of residents and fellows from various specialties.

Interested students will work with our panel of physician and resident reviewers to score abstracts using a guided scale. This is a great way to learn more about the review process, which will be integral to many of our future careers! You can expect to review and provide feedback for at most three anonymous abstracts.

We expect to send abstracts to reviewers around the 3rd week of January and would need reviews completed by 2/12/24.

The search for reviewers is now closed.
