Veteran Retreat
Homeward Bound Adirondacks in collaboration with LHF Veterans Initiative would like to invite you to a Veteran Retreat.  The retreat will be May 17-19, 2024 at Brookledge in Middle Grove, NY.  Brookledge is a glamping outdoor experience like no other.

Spend a day at Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga for some Equine Therapy. Horses are majestic creatures with huge souls. Because they are prey animals and not predators horses constantly read their environment. They are able to sense the slightest change in dynamic which makes them invaluable mirrors to the messages we humans give out. This non verbal experience can create enormous insight and compassion to the struggles that Veterans deal with on a daily basis. This retreat is an introduction to the powerful effects of bonding and communicating with these incredible animals. Many veterans have attested to the healing powers that horses can give.

NOTE: Retreats are free once people arrive - however we are not in a position to pay for transportation to get to and from the retreat venue.
Vets Helping Vets
Veterans build resilience and support networks through peer to peer discussions and activities. Retreats offer an opportunity to build comradery with other Vets while relaxing in a wilderness environment.
Waiting List
If you are unable to RSVP, then this retreat has reached its maximum capacity of veteran participants. There will be a waiting list. If there are any cancellations, those first on the waiting list, will be offered these on first come basis. Feel free to contact Homeward Bound Adirondacks to get on the waiting list

Cancelations
If you need to cancel, please cancel with HBA as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the day before the retreat. An empty RSVP is one veteran who misses out.
Covid Policy
Given the resurgence of the Covid virus this winter, alongside the notable presence of the flu and RSV, and compounded by a recent positive case among our veterans post-retreat, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of vigilant health monitoring. We urge all veterans to closely monitor for any symptoms of Covid, the flu, or RSV before participating in a retreat. Should you notice even the slightest symptoms of any of these illnesses, we strongly recommend undergoing appropriate testing or consulting with a healthcare provider beforehand. Additionally, if you begin to develop symptoms while at the retreat, please immediately inform a staff member and/or request the necessary test. Concealing symptoms helps neither you nor the other veterans in attendance. The health and safety of every participant is paramount, especially considering the diverse immune system strengths among our veteran attendees. To support this priority, please be aware that we provide Covid tests, thermometers, and masks at our retreats.
