Cascadia Song Rise 2024!
Join us on July 25
Location: Cottage Grove, Oregon. By car it’s ~30 minutes from Chanchifin (aka Eugene) and about 2 hours from Portland. The nearest train station is Eugene.

When: You are invited to set up starting Thursday afternoon; we finish Sunday after lunch.

How Many: We expect about 222 people to attend.

Logistics: We’ll be camping out in tents (or your own vehicle). Group meals will be provided (vegetarian and mostly organic, with vegan & gluten-free options).

Pets: Pets by special arrangement only. Please email us to request this.

Special Request: We ask that you avoid coming and going as much as possible to avoid impacting the neighbors- so please plan to stay for the entire event as much as possible, and avoid leaving the site.

Community Service: We are asking for a few hours of community service during the event to help the event go more smoothly. Please come prepared to help out and pitch in!

*Increased accessibility for BIPOC: If you need more funds to support your presence/ability to come, we want to support you! Please email Alyx at [email protected] to request.

Refund policy:
Registration payments are refundable for cancellations made by June 25th, minus a $35 administrative fee. After that date we will refund you only if we can fill your spot, minus a $50 admin fee. The only exception is if you cancel due to contagious illness. We will refund you completely minus a $50 fee if you contact us before the event to let us know. We support you staying home to care for yourself and not sharing the contagion!

Sliding Scale, Equity Ticketing & Donations:
We are a start-up event. We are intentionally keeping registration costs as low as possible to reduce financial barriers to attendance. However, there are naturally costs to put on this event. Please be as generous as possible on the sliding scale, and consider donating to our scholarship and equity fund if you are able! A portion of every registration is earmarked toward equity tickets, and we are aiming to gather additional funds to ensure a robust equity offering.

We are choosing to offer discounts to people of the global majority (BIPOC), who both historically and presently have less access to wealth than people considered White. And we'd like to be able to offer general scholarship support as needed too.

Partial attendance:
Discounts are not given for partial attendance, and we do not have a day rate. We prefer folks to stay on-site as that helps create a sense of being a temporary village. Additionally our site host has asked that we minimize traffic. That said, if you need to commute or arrive late or leave early it’s ok.

Event cancellation policy:
We live in an uncertain world. In the extremely unlikely event that something crazy happens (fire, global pandemic etc) and the event must be cancelled last minute, all registrants will receive a full refund, minus $50. We are asking everyone to share the risk together, so that the organizers won’t be left personally liable for whatever money may already have been spent up front.

Stay tuned: We will have special sessions before and after the event that you can sign up separately for- Thursday afternoon with Aaron Johnson and Monday morning with Laurence Cole and friends. We will be sending out registration info for these special events in the coming months.

For lots more information and details, see our main website at www.cascadiasongrise.org

Budget: Are you curious where the money is going? We believe in being transparent about finances, we will be posting our event budget as it becomes available.
