I'll talk about how there's no way we (ops) can ever keep up with the load of vulnerabilities security is always throwing at us, leading into a conversation about how today's tools are great for visibility but (in most cases) don't actually DO anything and will working towards a generic solution conversation for how agentic processes will enable superior IT Ops hygiene which in turn will lead to better IT security in the near future.
Bio: Chad Wansing is Principal Solutions Engineer at Abira Security and a 25-year veteran of IT. Before joining Abira, Chad spent five years at Tanium where he was named Solutions Engineer of the Year three consecutive times — a distinction earned through thousands of customer conversations and a consistent ability to find the solutions that help security and operations teams come together effectively.
Chad's career has been defined by the gap between what tools see and what IT teams can actually do about it. That gap — between visibility and action, between knowing and fixing — is the conversation he has spent two decades living inside, and the problem he is now building toward closing.
He is a dad of 5, Marine veteran, Scoutmaster, and the kind of person who studies the distance between words and action and then looks to actively close that distance.
