about safe harbor
Safe Harbor of Chester County has been serving men and women experiencing homelessness since 1995. Safe Harbor offers clean and safe housing, as well as laundry, shower facilities, clothing, and personal care items in a stable and enriching environment. Residents receive a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, and their community lunch program serves anyone in the community six days a week. Safe Harbor is proud to offer on-site case management services and collaborate through partnerships with other human services agencies including: job training and employment placement; weekly life training (i.e. conflict resolution, banking/budgeting, etc.); health, financial, and legal services.
The funds that we raise through this event will go towards helping Safe Harbor expand their operations and provide their residents with new offerings. Their aspirations for the near future include:
-Creating structured and productive day programming for residents during daytime hours, including offering support services for mental health issues, substance abuse, and domestic violence
-Becoming a resource and referral center, offering skill building classes and real-life training, including rental preparatory classes and trauma informed care
-Offering comprehensive follow-along services once an individual exits the shelter, including home visits, resource packages, and case management services to mitigate the risks associated with having a history of homelessness
We are excited to help this wonderful organization achieve their goals to help provide necessities and resources for those in our community who are experiencing homelessness!
