Double Hill Guided Tour
Owner/operator of the Double Hill Cidery, Sebastian Manago will lead you on an intimate and interactive one-hour tour to highlight the history and our hopes and dreams for the future of the Double Hill Cidery.
Follow Sebastian along the century-old lines of hedgerows into our newly planted orchards for a brief tutorial on the all-important grafting process. We hope you will be as excited as we are as we showcase newly grafted trees that we continue to discover and transport back to the orchards in search of the perfect cider apple (spoiler alert: we have not yet found perfection) and if you sign up for the tour you will learn why this is absolutely not a vain pursuit and how it ensures the quality and consistency of our cider. Finally, you will walk through our barrel-room for a rare glimpse through the window of where the cider magic happens.
We will kick-off each tour by gathering at The Terrace for a brief introduction and raise a glass with a sampling one of our ciders and then reconvene to mark the end of the tour with a guided tasting through a specially curated flight led by Erin Turcke, certified Sommelier.
About Erin
Our tasting room manager, Erin Turcke – hospitality veteran, certified sommelier, and wine educator – has crossed-over into cider to deliver an in-depth introduction and comprehensive overview of the craftmanship behind our line of ciders through specially curated flights and guided tastings. Erin can speak to the distinct style and expression of each and every one of our ciders and help you navigate our range of styles and choose the cider that best suits your preferred tastes.
About Sebastian
The Double Hill Cidery is the brainchild of Sebastian Manago. He fell in love with cider when he studied in France. In 1992, he acquired Double Hill, a beautiful farm in south-eastern PEI. Little did he know that he would ultimately be able to combine his love for the land with his passion for good quality cider.
