We are delighted to welcome Community Table back for 2022. This beloved event brings a renowned chef to our farm to design an ecological meal around our four seasonal rotations (market garden, milpa, berries, cover crops). By bringing these culinary artists back to the source, we give them an opportunity to connect with new ingredients, find fresh inspiration in our bioregion's historic foodways, and discover the rewards of relationship with the land.
CHEF CARLOS ANTHONY
Chef Carlos Anthony credits his grandmother’s kitchen as the spark of his culinary passion. Growing up in a home that was constantly filled with the smells of chilies and roasted pork naturally led to a leading role in family gatherings and community cookouts, developing skills and confidence that earned him a spot on the opening team for Brian Malarkey’s Searsucker. After spending over a decade as Malarkey’s right-hand man, Chef Carlos went on to open not one but two of his own restaurants in 2013: San Diego’s Salt and Cleaver and Costa Mesa’s Taco Asylum. Along the way, he distinguished himself with appearances on popular cooking competition shows such as Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped: Next Generation, and Tournament Of Champions. When not wowing judges and winning over audiences with his creativity and pluck, Chef Carlos serves as the executive chef of Brian Malarkey’s newest venture, Herb & Wood, where he leads his team in crafting an ingredient-driven menu focused on simplicity and flavor.
