Cosmico Fest is produced by the Launch Pad Foundation and the Cordovas. Since 2020, we've raised more than $10,000 to support wildfire recovery and firefighters.

This year Cosmico Fest will take donations in the memory of Evelyn Dieckhaus, a victim of the recent Nashville shooting and the niece of our dear friends Kelly and Noah Dorrance. All donations to the Launch Pad Foundation, a public 501(c)(3), will be directed by the family to initiatives relating to gun safety. The Launch Pad Foundation's mission is to build stronger communities, and we're proud to dedicate our efforts to preventing gun-related tragedies.

2023 Lineup
Tim Bluhm
Bluhm began his musical journey roughly 25 years ago at Chico State, where he co-founded the now-iconic Mother Hips, a group the San Francisco Chronicle has hailed as “one of the Bay Area’s most beloved live outfits.” The group signed to Rick Rubin’s American Recordings on the strength of their debut album, ‘Back To The Grotto,’ and over the ensuing decades, released eight more studio albums and shared bills with everyone from Johnny Cash and Wilco to Lucinda Williams and The Black Crowes as they cemented their status as architects of a new breed of California soul. Rolling Stone called them “divinely inspired,” while Pitchfork praised their “rootsy mix of 70s rock and power pop," and The New Yorker lauded their ability to “sing it sweet and play it dirty.” Ever-curious and wildly prolific, Bluhm simultaneously released a slew of his own solo and collaborative projects on the side, teamed up with The Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann among others, opened up his own recording studio, and helped launch the Hipnic, an intimate and immaculately-curated music festival that’s still held annually amongst the towering redwoods of Big Sur.
Duane Betts
As a teen, Duane Betts cut his teeth sitting-in regularly with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Allman Brothers Band. A Sarasota, Florida native, Betts relocated to Southern California and led Malibu rock outfits such as Backbone69 and Whitestarr, then ascended to a near-decade stint playing guitar alongside his father, Dickey Betts, in his group, Great Southern. Whether as a touring guitarist for folk-rockers Dawes or sharing the stage with luminaries from Jack Johnson and G. Love to Kid Rock and Phil Lesh, Betts became a consummate musician. In 2018 he formed The Allman Betts Band, officially uniting with Devon Allman, and with Berry D. Oakley, son of the late Allman Brothers Band founding bassist Berry Oakley. Duane has picked up a lot along the way. With every note and every word, he’s showing what he’s learned, while holding with the utmost respect what’s been passed to him.
Cordovas
A band with one foot in the present and another in the past, Cordovas embrace the sound of classic Americana and country-rock, with The Band, Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers as key influences.

The group is led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Joe Firstman, who recorded as a solo artist for Atlantic Records and led the house band on NBC Late Night before forming Cordovas in 2011, and lead guitarist Lucca Soria who joined the band in 2016.

Cordovas’ new record, produced by Cory Hanson (Wand), will be released in summer 2023 on ATO Records.
Los Hijos Del Tropico
Los Hijos Trópico are a fusión band born from the energy of the Tropic of Cancer—a mix of Latin rhythms  and inspired by other world roots music, bringing together different cultures into one one party.
Jen Korte
Jen Korte is a self-taught award winning musician, producer, collaborator, events planner, actress and educator. She has played every venue or festival from Red Rocks to the Caribbean with her band, Jen Korte and The Loss, and her solo project, Lady Gang, and has opened for such acts as The Pharcyde, Too Short, Nappy Roots, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Flobots, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bitch, Tegan and Sarah, and many more. She also fronts the band The Dirty Femmes: A Tribute To the Violent Femmes and has opened and sang with The Violent Femmes at Denver Botanic Gardens in 2018.
She was featured in March 2022 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science as an exhibitor on looping, composition, and guitar tone as part of the international exhibit "Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked the World."
Johnny Stachela
The forthcoming Duane Betts album, issued by the Royal Potato Family label, is set for release in the summer of 2023.  In support of the new record, Stachela joins Betts as a member of his new band, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, embarking on an extensive U.S. tour including festival dates and headlining appearances. As well, in the spring of 2023 Stachela released the single, “County Farm Blues”, a cover of the 1930s Son House folk blues, across all digital platforms.

After decades of perseverance, and with his well-crafted style of bottleneck slide evoking favorable comparisons to his heroes- influenced and inspired, never imitating- Johnny Stachela has become one of the more highly respected guitarists in modern blues and rock.
Gussie’s Dream Corner
Gussie’s Dream Corner is my weekly opportunity to foist my musical discoveries upon the unassuming public. My show is largely genre-less, unless Whatever-I-Feel-Like is a genre. That being said, you’re likely to hear empowered female vocalists of the 80s and 90s, funky Brazilian crooners, and angry loners over fuzzed-out synth melodies.

Jill Leighton is a Scottish musician and artist.
