COVID-19 Safety Protocols
FAQs
1. What safety protocols am I required/encouraged to follow while I’m at the CSPCA conference in Monterrey Bay?
According to the California Department of Public health, only unvaccinated persons are required to mask in all indoor public settings. This would include attendance at any and all indoor sessions at our CSPCA conference this year. Surgical masks or higher-level respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) with good fit are highly recommended. Fully vaccinated individuals are recommended to continue indoor masking when the risk may be high. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as those individuals that have undergone the full schedule of vaccinations (excluding booster shots) for the type of vaccine received. We are not requiring that attendees be vaccinated in order to attend the CSPCA conference. However, all attendees are required to wear masks while in all open public spaces within the hotel.
2. What COVID -19 safety protocols will the hotel facility take to maintain as safe environment as possible for conference attendees?
Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the conference meeting areas as well as exhibit areas.
3. Are there any COVID-19 safety protocols required of me to attend the vendor’s reception on Sunday evening?
As stated, only unvaccinated persons attending the vendor’s reception on Sunday evening are required to wear facial masks. Surgical masks or higher-level respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) with good fit are highly recommended. Fully vaccinated individuals are only recommended to mask.
4. Are there any COVID-19 safety protocols required of me to attend the Monterrey Bay Aquarium event on Sunday evening?
Attendance at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium event on Monday evening requires that you either: 1) present evidence of your completed COVID-19 vaccination along with your photo identification OR 2) submit to a COVID-19 test completed on site prior to entering the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Those providing evidence of full vaccination can either bring their vaccination card with them along with a photo ID, or they can provide a cell phone picture of their vaccination card along with their photo ID.
For those attendees that aren’t vaccinated, testing will be conducted at the entrance to the aquarium only between the hours of 6pm – 7pm on the evening of the event. There will be no charge to attendees that require the COVID-19 test. The results will be emailed and texted to individuals and are available within 15-30 minutes after taking the test. We suggest that you register in advance to assist us in making the process efficient and quick. You can register using the following link: https://lightspeedtesting.net/register/. If you do not have proof of vaccination and you miss the opportunity for testing prior to the 7pm deadline you will not be allowed into the Aquarium. There will be no exceptions. In order to assist unvaccinated employees with testing at the aquarium, bus transportation will be provided from the hotel to the aquarium. The first bus to the aquarium will leave at 5:45 pm and then every 15 minutes. IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT TESTING WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE AT THE AQUARIUM FROM 6PM TO 7PM. NO EXCEPTIONS.
As a reminder, all attendees to the Aquarium must have valid photo identification to enter the Aquarium.
