A celebration of the mathematics of Henri Darmon on the occasion of his 60th birthday
August 18-22, 2025 Montreal, QC
We will gather to celebrate and showcase the spectacular advances in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry inspired by the vast research program of Henri Darmon. We will discuss the latest developments in the following subjects pioneered by Darmon and his collaborators:
• The construction of Stark–Heegner points and generalized Heegner cycles, which has witnessed important applications in studying special values of L-functions and Hilbert’s 12th problem.
• The study of arithmetic cycles, including diagonal cycles and rigid meromorphic cycles, which have been central to many important breakthroughs in arithmetic geometry in the last few years.
• Recent progress in generalizing the construction of the p-adic L-function of Bertolini–Darmon–Prasanna to new settings and potential applications towards the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture, as well as Iwasawa main conjectures via arithmetic level raising techniques.
