Darrell Eden Walters
a Celebration of Life
Join us on September 01, 2024
Darrell Eden Walters (1967-2024) was a stalwart figure in Southern California for over 36 years. As beloved technical faculty at CalArts and adjunct faculty at College of the Canyons from 1995 to 2021, the positive impact he has had on countless students over the years can only be underestimated. To further illustrate his impact, Darrell's role as the Photography and Media facilitator for the Community Art Partnership (CAP), exposed an incalculable amount of high school students to the art of photography.

Darrell had a life-long dedication to volunteerism. Whether it be assisting at Gardena Valley Democratic club events, acting as a docent for MAK Center for Art and Architecture open house events, participating as a Friends of the Antelope Valley Indian Museum board member and docent for The Antelope Valley Indian Museum, or acting as a docent for the Bryan Museum in Galveston, Texas.

Darrell also delighted in exposing people to many of the cultural opportunities that Los Angeles has had to offer over the years. His friends knew Huell Howser had nothing on Darrell. He was a huge proponent of the LA Conservancy Architectural Walking Tours for example and dearly loved sharing the free weekly pipe organ concerts at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.

But most of all Darrell was incredibly enthusiastic about his friends and family. His wholehearted support of those lucky enough to count him as a friend was simply life changing.

If there was ever an individual who deserves a celebration, it is Darrell Eden Walters. Come join us to honor his lasting impact on us all.
