The Architects Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its Call for Applications for the 2027 Design Assistance Team (DAT) program. This webinar will provide an overview of the DAT program and the 2027 application cycle, a description of the application process and selection criteria, and an opportunity for Q&A. The webinar will also highlight case studies that demonstrate how the process can be leveraged for community impact. Wayne Feiden, FAICP, will share his experience from hosting several DATs in Northampton, MA, and serving on dozens of design assistance teams in communities across the country. Wayne has authored multiple Planning Advisory Service Reports for the American Planning Association that highlight the Design Assistance Team program, methodology and community impact, including Strategic Planning for Communities and Organizations, Local Planning Agency Management, and Assessing Sustainability: A Guide for Local Governments. During his tenure as Northampton's Director of Planning & Sustainability, the city received the nation's first 5-STAR Community Rating in national sustainability (now a component of LEED for Cities).
