The only certainty about life is that at some point it will be over. Within the realm of human service delivery, we face death on a somewhat regular basis whether it is our clients, family or friends or our own mortality. Most of us spend very little time contemplating what this means.

For many years Marsha Linehan Ph.D. has hosted weekend death and dying retreats for her graduate students and other interested groups. Spring of 2017 Marsha hosted a death and dying retreat in Tucson. All 16 participants at the retreat expressed a great deal of gratitude to Marsha for the experience and genuine surprise for things they had learned in the process. This prompted a desire by Marsha to host more of these retreats in various locations thoughout North America. The last retreat Marsha hosted was in Chicago. Sadly, Marsha is no longer able to lead these retreats and in accordance with her wishes these retreats will continue. This retreat will be the third Death and Dying retreat facilitated by Ronda Reitz Ph.D., carrying on Marsha's tradition. 

The retreat begins on Friday afternoon at 4 PM. All participants will sketch out a timeline of their lives. These timelines will be shared within the greater group. During the day on Saturday all participants will be given writing tasks which include: your will, letters to family and friends, your own obituary, instructions for your funeral/memorial services. On Sunday after breakfast all participants will engage in imaginary dying which would include attending your own funeral/memorial service.

Throughout the retreat there will be opportunity to share your own experience and learn for the experience of others. The retreat ends on Sunday around noon.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Requests for refunds must be made in writing. Full refunds minus $50 will be made for requests made by June 14, 2024. No refunds will be made thereafter.
