Network Security - Inside the Firewall
Mr. John Day, Chief Technology Offer at LMN Software Corp.

Security networks are different from business networks, yet the typical IT approach to securing a security network doesn't recognize that. A security network is most at risk of an intrusion from inside the firewall, not through the firewall. Further complicating this, security networks frequently have network drops outside the building's primary security perimeter.  This seminar explores how to harden and secure your security networks  - from the inside out.

Why is being FIPS 140-2 Compliant Important?
Mr. Will Knehr Senior Manager of Information Security and Data Privacy i-PRO Americas

Keeping sensitive data, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII), secure in every stage of its life is an important task for any organization. To simplify this process, standards, regulations, and best practices were created to better protect data.
FIPS 140-2 requires role-based authentication and tamper evident physical devices to be used. Mr. Knehr breaks down the different levels associated with the standard and addresses how manufacturers of edge devices such as IP cameras should build and certify their products to keep sensitive data secure while limiting outside attacks or creating vulnerabilities through the deployment of security networks.
