2023 is the 7th year of Dick Groat's Celebrity Classic (formerly the Pittsburgh Celebrity Golf Tournament). As in prior years, all proceeds benefit the educational needs of the talented young student-athletes at the University of Pittsburgh.

This year’s Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Champion Lakes Golf Course & Resort starting at 10:00 AM. If you are new to the Classic, it is a five-some golf scramble. Teams consist of four golfers plus one randomly-assigned Pittsburgh Celebrity – someone known in the Western Pennsylvania area from the media or for their sporting accomplishments.

We aim to make the event as fun, relaxed, and enjoyable as possible. No stuffy outing here. You can expect a performance by the Pitt Alumni Band, skill prizes, lots of laughs and stories, raffles, a casual meal, and post round cocktails (and probably some during the round too).
