At the Open Day you will learn more about Diploma in Law qualification with presentations from the LPAB, LEC, alumni, current students, and lecturers. Learn about enrolment procedures, how the course is delivered, upcoming deadlines, and more. Take advantage of a focused Q&A session to get answers to all your questions about studying for the Diploma in Law.

The Diploma in Law offers an alternative pathway to become a lawyer, with manageable subject costs ($1230 each) and a flexible part-time structure.

  • - Two semesters per year (summer and winter), completing the 20 requires subjects in 4 years.
  • - Part-time study with evening lectures (with remote access options) and Weekend Schools

Joanna Ernenwein
 LEC DIRECTOR LLM, MA, DIPLAW, DIPED
Ms Ernenwein is a solicitor and educator with expertise in corporate governance, policy, and compliance. With extensive experience in education, she has held roles in corporate governance for diverse educational and non-profit organisations. Joanna offers quality assurance advice for the NSW Education Standards Authority and contributes to the Australian and New Zealand Education Law Association. Embracing lifelong learning, she excels as a facilitator and presenter in legal education and compliance workshops. She draws from past roles managing the LLM Programme at the College of Law and various teaching, governance, and legal positions in Australia, France, and Poland.

Peter McGhee
DIPLAW (SAB), LLM (COLLEGE OF LAW)
Mr. McGhee currently works for ICare as a team leader of technical claims manager, specialising in historical sexual abuse claims. Before this, Peter was a senior legal officer for the Department of Education and a senior legal advocate at the NSW Legal Representation Office, appearing as an advocate in inquiries before the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Police Integrity Commission, as well as Special Commissions of Inquiry. He has previously taught at UTS. He is accredited as a specialist by the Law Society NSW in advocacy.
