Mavrek is a bright, athletic 9-year-old who is both quiet and observant in new settings and the resident comedian at home. Last fall, Mavrek began to experience headaches that grew more frequent and intense, as well as blurred vision. Mavrek was diagnosed with a brain tumor and immediately began chemotherapy. Although he is still undergoing treatment, his tumor has shrunk by 82 percent! Mavrek has not yet officially declared his wish, but he has enjoyed dreaming up options. Whatever he chooses, his wish will be a chance to celebrate courage, lift his spirits, and create joyful memories with his family during a time when hope matters most.
