Elmhurst Knights of Columbus Charities
The Elmhurst Knights of Columbus are part of a Global Catholic Fraternity, founded over 140 years ago, with the vision of putting men’s faith into action. Today, globally the Knights are 2 million members strong, volunteering 75 million service hours annually, and donating over $200 million to charitable causes around the globe.
Here in Elmhurst, the Fr. McDonald Council was founded in 1918 by Fr. David McDonald, then Pastor of Immaculate Conception and has been serving Elmhurst for over 100 years.
Over the last 7 years, the Elmhurst Knights of Columbus has provided 30,000 volunteer hours …….and donated over $260,000 helping those in need in our Community.

A Few of Our Charitable Efforts....
Intellectual Disability
Over the last 5 years the Elmhurst Knights of Columbus have donated over $120,000 to local charities supporting individuals with intellectual & physical disabilities.
Coats For Kids
The Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids® program ensures that no child in North America goes without a coat during winter. Over the last 5 years, the Elmhurst Knights of Columbus have donated over 5000 new coats.
Food For Families
Food for Families ensures that as few as possible go to bed hungry each night. Over the last 2 years the Elmhurst KC has donated over 5,000lbs of food to community shelters.
Blood Drives
The Knights of the Columbus was the 1st Organization to establish National Blood Drives. Since its inception the Elmhurst Knights of Columbus have hosted over 300 Blood Drives.
(New) Bright Futures
Too often, young families struggle financially in providing their children a Catholic Education. Elmhurst KC is partnering with IC and Visitation Grade Schools to keep these students in school.
Other Charities We Support
Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food pantries, by volunteering at Special Olympics, and by supporting, both spiritually and materially, mothers who choose life for their babies. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.
