General Strike at the U.S. Capitol Grounds
September 17, 2026, 9:00 AM
U.S. Capitol Grounds Washington, DC 20004
Congress wants to take time off work? So should we!
We invite people who support the Emergency General Strike and related boycotts to join us in-person to peacefully rally at the U.S. Capitol Grounds near the House Office Buildings at the corner of Independence Ave. and New Jersey Ave. on September 17th at 9:00 AM. This is the last day Congress is scheduled to be in session until after the elections, and we want to let them know that we don't appreciate them adjourning early while important legislation related to our demands is still on the table.
Here are our demands:
Abolish ICE • Halt U.S. military integration with Israel • AI / data center moratorium • Full Epstein disclosure and criminal prosecution • Article 2 Section 4 removal of corrupt officials • Protect election integrity
Because House sessions will be cancelled the last two weeks of September, Congress won't be able to vote on legislation related to the release of the Epstein files and regulations for AI and data centers. The recent impeachment articles filed against President Donald Trump by Rep. Al Green will likely go unaddressed until after the elections.
We cannot allow these important issues to be so easily dismissed as our elected officials take extra time off to get a head start on their election campaigns. It seems as though this administration plans to interfere with the upcoming elections as war and corruption continue, and as hate and the abuse of power are killing people at home and abroad. It's time to make our voices heard.
If you intend to peacefully rally with us in-person at the U.S. Capitol, please RSVP. A permit is being secured. Some signs will be provided, but we encourage people to make their own as well. Bring your own snacks and water as we cannot distribute food and beverage on Capitol Grounds.
