ABOUT
Join us on February 06
Our Christian faith invites us to a life centered in God and urges us to a greater role beyond the Church. This role requires a constant rethinking and revisiting of our contemporary context.

Public theology intersects multiple facets of life: individual lives, societies, nations, the community of European nations. It adds to a theologically informed public discourse about common issues, argued in ways that can be evaluated by public criteria. It also seeks to communicate how Christian faith and practices bear on public life and the common good.

As preparations for the 2023 CEC General Assembly are underway and as we are implementing CEC’s Call and Witness strategy, I would like to invite you to discuss the role of ecumenical theology in transcending private, national, and confessional borders, and the intentional contribution of churches to the public conversation and action for the common good. Your reflections will be crucial in the shaping of the Assembly programme as well as the future direction of the organisation.

The meeting schedule will be shared with you closer to the date.

In Christ,

Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen
General Secretary
