Damian Greenish has been a solicitor for over 40 years. Until his retirement as a partner in 2016, he was senior partner and then chairman of Pemberton Greenish LLP. He is now a senior consultant to the leading Mayfair firm Forsters LLP.
Throughout his career, he has taken a close interest in the subject of leasehold reform, advising both landlords and tenants on all aspects of residential leasehold law, with particular interest in enfranchisement. He has been involved in many of the landmark leasehold reform cases in the Supreme Court, House of Lords, Court of Appeal, High Court and the valuation tribunals. He has been the joint editor of Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement since 1998, the 7th Edition being published in 2020. He is a speaker at and acts as a regular chairman of the leading conferences and seminars in this specialised sector of the law.
He is chairman of the Trustees of the Sloane Stanley Estate (a mixed-use Estate in west Chelsea, London); a Vice-President (and former Chairman of the Council) of the Chelsea Society; a member of The Law Society; a member of the British Property Federation’s Residential Property Management Committee, Honourary President of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP) and a member of the Commonhold Council.

Clare Grove, a chartered marketer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, has worked in marketing and events in a range of industries including housebuilding, automotive and healthcare over the past 20 years.

Clare is well known to the ALEP membership, having worked with the Association and in the leasehold sector for almost ten years. As well as overseeing the day-to-day management of ALEP, Clare works closely with the board and committee to support its strategy and planning.

Clare is a co-director of DRIVE Marketing, a marketing and events company working with clients in a variety of sectors in London, the South East, Spain and the US.

John is a partner in the Property Disputes team and heads up the specialist Leasehold Enfranchisement team at Seddons.
He is a leading practitioner in the field of collective enfranchisement, lease extensions and right to manage claims, having been involved in numerous highly contentious cases.
John writes regularly for specialist publications on a variety of enfranchisement and landlord and tenant issues.
He has been identified as one of the top 100 influential people in the leasehold property sector, appearing for several years in the News on The Block Hot 100 list which includes a mix of professionals, politicians, property owners and investors.
John was instrumental in pioneering the Leasehold Reform Amendment Act 2014 and continues to work with parliamentarians on issues within the leasehold sector..

Mark Wilson is a Chartered Surveyor, RICS Registered Valuer and a director of myleasehold, having set up the business in 2004. Mark maintains an active and focused interest in the enfranchisement sector dealing with all property types.

As a business owner and specialist valuer Mark has a breadth of experience to bring to the committee and the ALEP membership. He supports collaboration and transparency and is a firm supporter of the underlying principles of the legislation allowing tenants to extend their leases or buy their buildings as of right. And, on the future of the sector with the prospect reform, Mark describes himself as thoughtfully neutral.

Henrietta Hammonds is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, an RICS Registered Valuer, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She is a partner at Beckett and Kay, a small firm specialising in landlord and tenant valuation, including in leasehold enfranchisement.

Henrietta has a wide experience in leasehold reform, acting for freeholders, intermediate landlords and tenants. Her experience includes appearances before the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).

Bob Smytherman has been a committee member of the FPRA for over 15 years and became Hon Chairman in 2008.
He is currently a director of his own residents’ association and has been since 1992, taking over as chairman in 1995 and was instrumental in removing a number of ineffective managing agents and along with his fellow RMC Directors has self-managed the Worthing estate since 2001 saving on agent’s fees, which has enabled them to spend more on the block itself.
Bob was also responsible for challenging the RMC lease with the freeholder on building insurance and as a result they are now free to purchase their own policy. Their residents’ association is formally recognised by the local authorities for consultations by West Sussex County Council and the Borough Council, as well as other public organisations and includes being a statutory consultee for Licensing and Planning applications.
Bob was first elected to Worthing Borough Council in 2002, and has served as the Cabinet Member with responsibility for Planning and Economic Development during 2003/4 and spent 12 years as a West Sussex County Councillor before retiring in 2021 to spend more time on Leasehold Reform.
He brings with him experience of a medium-sized block adding to the diversity of the committee’s experience and advises members on Local Government issues as well as Health and Safety and is working with the Home Office of the new regulations proposed by changes to the fire safety legislation.

Mairéad Anne Carroll is a Senior Specialist at RICS where she leads on work relating to property agency and management including the development of an overarching code for property agents and a block management code for managing agents.

Mairéad represents RICS on a number of groups including the Technical Support Group to the Commonhold Council, the Homebuying and Selling Group and the Construction Industry Council’s Housing Panel.

Mairéad is a Board member for Innisfree Housing Association, where she sits on both the Development and Renumeration and Nominations committees.

Nicola Muir is a senior member of the Tanfield Chambers property team. She is a specialist in enfranchisement law and all aspects of landlord and tenant law. Nicola regularly appears in the FTT and Upper Tribunal in relation to enfranchisement claims, notable cases in which she has appeared include Tibber v Buckley (CA), Leaseholders of Foundling Court and others v Camden LBC, Allied London (Brunswick) Ltd and others (UT),   Eastern Pyramid Group Corp SA v Spire House RTM Co. Ltd (UT), Westminster City Council v CH2006 Ltd (UT), Corvan (Properties) Ltd v Abdel-Mahmoud (CA) and LM Homes Ltd v Queen Court Freehold Co. Ltd (FTT) . Nicola is recommended by both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners which describes her as “Approachable, pragmatic and knowledgeable”. Nicola was shortlisted by the Legal 500 as Junior of the Year 2019 for Real Estate, Environment and Planning. In addition to her busy practice, Nicola has a regular column on legal issues relating to the residential property in the Estates Gazette.

Yashmin Mistry is a Partner and leads JPC Law’s Property Practice Group. Yashmin is a leading expert in leasehold enfranchisement and landlord & tenant matters and is widely acknowledged as a thought leader in her field. Natasha Rees is Head of Property Litigation and a partner at Mayfair-based law firm, Forsters LLP.
She has experience in all areas of commercial and residential property litigation with particular expertise in residential disputes and leasehold enfranchisement. She also heads up the Forsters Enfranchisement Team.
Natasha is on the contributory board of the Property Law Journal and regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on residential property litigation and enfranchisement.
