Dr. Meng is Professor and Section Chief of Clinical Chemistry in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also serves as Director of the Clinical Chemistry Postdoctoral Training Program at MD Anderson, where he leads advanced education and mentorship in laboratory medicine. Dr. Meng’s research focuses on tumor biology, tumor biomarkers, liquid biopsy, and cancer diagnostics. He has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed publications, reflecting sustained contributions to translational cancer diagnostics and clinical chemistry.  A recognized leader in the field, Dr. Meng is the Immediate Past President of the Academy of Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (formerly the AACC Academy), Co-Chair of the IFCC eJIFCC Working Group and Co-Editor-in-Chief of eJIFCC, an ISOBM Board Member, and a member of the CLSI Expert Panel on Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology. His accomplishments have been recognized with numerous professional honours, including the 2021 AACC Academy Award for Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Chemistry in a Selected Area of Research.
