Fiona's Bat Mitzvah
Fiona's Bat Mitzvah is the culmination of a long journey for Fiona and our family.  We are so proud of Fiona and all the work she has done to arrive at this special day!

For those of you new to this tradition, a Bat Mitzvah is a coming of age ceremony that marks the beginning of Jewish adulthood. Fiona has spent countless hours preparing for this day and we would be delighted if you would come and share in our joy.

Fiona's service will take place Saturday morning, October 7th, at Temple Beth El, on the East Side of Providence. For anyone who cannot join us in person, you can watch the service via live stream at https://www.temple-beth-el.org/live-streaming

That evening, come celebrate at our house in East Greenwich with dinner and dancing!
Join us in the Biggest Little
State in the Union!
We're excited to welcome friends and family from near and far to join us in Rhode Island.  Fondly known by Rhode Islanders as the Biggest Little State in the Union (a tag line coined by Fiona's grandfather when he worked in advertising), Rhode Island is a great place to visit, especially in October when fall foliage will be on full display.

To reach Rhode Island, visitors can fly into Boston's Logan Airport (about an hour north of Providence) or into Providence's T.F. Green Airport.

We have two rooms blocks available for out of town guests, one in Providence at the Residence Inn Providence Downtown. This hotel is close to where Fiona's Bat Mitzvah service service will be held on Saturday morning. Home to Brown University and RISD, Providence is a historic New England city with much to offer visitors.

The other room block is at the NYLO Providence Warwick Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. This hotel - which is in a unique converted historic mill building - is about 10 minutes from the Providence airport and our home in East Greenwich where the Saturday evening celebration will be held.

If you're feeling more adventurous, Newport, Narragansett, and Westerly are other great options for places to stay - farther from the weekend's events, but special Rhode Island spots near the ocean.

Please reach out to Elizabeth or Babak with questions about travel recommendations.

Tikkun Olam - Repairing the World
Tikkun olam - the Jewish concept of taking action to make the world more peaceful and just - is central to Jewish teachings and has been a focal point of Fiona's Bat Mitzvah studies.  Fiona will be incorporating tikkun olam into her celebration.
